    Meth Contamination Closes School

    Meth Contamination Closes School

Unfortunately today no matter how hard health officials, parents, caregivers and others stress the dangers associated with substance abuse there is always going to be someone setting bad examples or putting someone's health at risk. Most parents work diligently keeping their children informed when it comes to substance abuse and educators in schools do what they can to spread awareness and prevention to their students.

Drugs like crystal methamphetamine are extremely dangerous due to the toxic chemicals contained in the illegal stimulant drug. The effects from methamphetamine use are very serious, not only for the meth user but for those who produce the drug. The residue from the chemicals used to produce methamphetamine that's found in clandestine labs is very toxic and dangerous to anyone that comes into contact with it. You would think you were safe as long as you didn't use crystal meth yourself or enter a lab that illegally manufactures the drug, wouldn't you?

I'm sure the students at a vocational center never thought their school would be shut down recently due to toxic meth residue found in the duct system of their building. And if that isn't surprising enough, the principal and a teacher are allegedly responsible for the methamphetamine residue in the first place.

According to ABC World News, the school will reopen when the residue in the duct system is cleaned up. Even the smallest amount of exposure to the residue from methamphetamine can cause symptoms of faintness, queasiness and even headaches.

We are definitely living in a different world today and unfortunately you can never be sure who may use substances like crystal meth and other drugs to get high. It doesn't matter what a person's age is, what line of work a person is in, or what their financial status is, substance abuse takes place in all age groups.
