Local Meth Production Decreases in Missouri, Mexican Meth Moves In

Local meth production has decreased in many areas throughout the United States now that major efforts are being made to monitor the purchase of medications containing pseudoephedrine and many clandestine labs are being seized and shut down. Sadly, due to addiction, the demand for meth is still high and addicts will find other sources to obtain their drug from when local production becomes limited.

For several years the illicit production of meth was higher in Missouri than in any other state and unfortunately many people have become addicted to the stimulant drug. Now that headway is being made in reducing meth labs and the availability of methamphetamine in St. Louis, it appears there's another source supplying some of the drug to meth addicts according to cbslocal.com.

The Mexican drug cartels are the ones "moving in" supplying the meth that's being made in their "superlabs" and according to St. Louis DEA agent Jim Shroba, "they're moving it out the door as fast as they can manufacture it." The potency of Mexican meth is high too, "as much as 90 percent pure" according to the Drug Enforcement Administration.

It's sad no matter how effective states are in decreasing the availability of illegal drugs like meth, the Mexican Drug Cartels find a way to move their illicit drugs in as fast as they can and in this case, the purity levels are high which can get people hooked fast if they're not already.
