The Dangers and Symptoms of Meth Use

Meth is such a destructive drug, in a short period of time a person can become addicted and they're lives are changed forever without help. Long term use of meth not only leads to addiction but the changes that take place in the brain make it next to impossible to stop on your own without help. When a person is chronically addicted to meth the anxiety, confusion, depression, delusions and paranoia some people experience has to be a living nightmare.

Studies also show a person whom abuses meth increases their risk of Parkinson's disease. Sadly today methamphetamines and stimulant drugs that are similar to meth are the "second most widely used class of illegal drugs in the world".

    Symptoms of Meth Use

There are symptoms to look for if a person is using meth which can include dilated pupils, unable to sleep, anxiousness, nervousness, nonstop talking, mood swings, irritability, repetitive behavior, picking at their skin, skin rashes and sores, agitation, weight loss, and violent behavior. Meth is full of toxic and poisonous chemicals and some people may even have a chemical body odor that's obvious.

Some people become addicted to meth very fast and in a short period of time this can lead to chronic addiction. Chronic addiction to meth can lead to irreversible damage to the brain as well as overdose and death.

If you're a parent and you suspect your child is using meth it's important to get them help as soon as possible. Meth is commonly used among young people today and in a short time it can change their lives forever. If you're not sure where to turn for help and assistance, call 1-800-559-9503 and let us help.
