Will Xanax, Valium, Haldol, Abilify, Anafranil or Loxapine Help with Crystal Meth Withdrawal?

    Question:
Will Xanax, Valium, Haldol, Abilify, Anafranil or Loxapine help with crystal meth withdrawal?? I have been using (snorting) meth for 3yrs. on a daily basis just to feel "normal". If none of the above help is there anything you can suggest?

    Answer:
It's very hard to stop snorting meth on your own when a person has used the drug for a prolonged period of time, and 3 years is a long time. I hope you're going to seek professional help and advice and not attempting to stop on your own or self-medicate your symptoms on your own either.

Xanax and Valium are medications that are sometimes prescribed to help with anxiety and panic symptoms experienced by methamphetamine withdrawal and sometimes antidepressants are also. These medications are not meant for everyone so it's important not to take them on your own, only from a medical professional that prescribes them for you and they must be taken as directed. Unless you also receive some form of counseling or therapy, medications will only help with symptoms of withdrawal, not healing and recovery.
